The cpu is labeled as a little bit newer design number but it and also the GPU are likely the same speed as the 3GS. The old Contact with the same Processor and GPU since the 3G was faster. Apart from getting the clock speed turned up greater the Contact has much less software to run because it’s not a telephone. It should do better than any iPhone to day in overall performance.

[...] i read a couple of article here and there on charging the iPhone 3G. Apparently, the issue is more with the phone and not the media interface kit. WIth the 3G, they changed something in there that will now result in the 3G not being charged by the media interface kit. Charging of older iPhones (pre-3G) and iPods should not be an issue. Read also that Merc has come up with an iPhone interface kit… and these are apparently good for charging the 3G phones.. The Apple rumor mill is once again running overtime on the topic of netbooks. If you believe the reports, Steve Jobs is himself leading the charge. My take: Whatever Apple does, it won’t be a netbook in the usual sense, I also bet that Apple, if it does anything, will itself avoid using the n-word to describe it.
