For the first time in history, Mercedes-Benz will auction one of its original racing cars (“Laureus AMG Mercedes C-Class”) from the DTM (German Touring Car Championships). This was the car which Gary Paffett drove to win the DTM race in Oschersleben last year.

The obtained funds will be transfered to Laureus Sport for Good Foundation that funds social sports projects for young people. The auction, which will close on Friday, April 4, 2008, is taken care by Christie’s.

Mercedes-Benz has set the minimum bid for the car at $435,000. The winner of the bid will get to drive home this special AMG Mercedes C-Class with signatures of various celebrities including Boris Becker, Franziska van Almsick and Niki Lauda on its bonnet.
