You’ve all probably heard about the FIA World Council decision regarding the espionage case involving Mclaren Mercedes and Ferrari. After months of investigation and hearings, FIA has allegedly found enough evidence that involves Mclaren Mercedes in the espionage; they have fined the team a staggering 100 million dollars and have stripped them from all constructor points. The team is pleading innocent of course and will fight to overturn the verdict. One thing that frustrates me is the fact that they are punishing the team collectively and are not going after the individual people itself. No doubt that the fine as well as the loss of points will affect the team.

This is what Norbert Haug had to say. “This judgment comes as an extreme shock for all team members and, as demonstrated by the reactions of large parts of the public, the media and Formula 1 viewers, is a shock for large segments of the public as well. We will now fight with all our resolve in order to give a proper response on the circuit, as we last did in Monza, and to get justice before the court.”
