I had the honor of receiving an invitation from Mercedes-Benz of Canada to view their all new and feature rich website for the new C-Class, and report about my experience. The most important thing to note here is that you will be the first ones to see it, that is right, before even the big automobile magazine had the chance to look at it.

As you will see the website is very well designed, the navigation is simple, the content is impressive, but most importantly, it gets the message across. I am not trying exaggerated, but the website with its beautiful design, rich content, and simplicity mirrors the car itself.

The site asks visitors: “What Drives You?” Five animated vignettes act as “answers”, each representing a different dimension of the vehicle’s – and driver’s – personality. Most importantly though, it’s bringing excitement and promoting the C-Class launch in Canada on September 12th.

Mark Forsyth, Manager of Interactive Services at Mercedes-Benz Canada, comments: “With a unique brochure builder, integrated media gallery, and direct links to an online configurator and dealer locator, this site gives customers and potential Mercedes-Benz clients several opportunities to get up close and personal with the new car.”

Press Release:

Toronto (August 21, 2007) – Mercedes-Benz Canada launched a new website today featuring images, video, vignettes, and product highlights of the innovative all-new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The site can be found at www.mercedes-benz.ca/whatdrivesyou

Understanding that many drivers see their vehicle as an extension of themselves, the site asks visitors: “What Drives You?” Five animated vignettes act as “answers”, each representing a different dimension of the vehicle’s – and driver’s – personality.

A key feature of the sleek site is a brochure customizer where visitors can build – and send themselves – a personalized e-brochure with information relevant to them. The site also encourages visitors to place the C-Class images and video onto personal websites and blogs.

The new C-Class will arrive in Mercedes-Benz showrooms in Canada on September 12 and dealers are anticipating a flow of customers eager to drive the luxury sedan. “Our online preview has already generated significant interest and we anticipate that this new site will further encourage many people to take a test drive,” says Forsyth.

The site was designed by Mercedes-Benz Canada’s interactive agency, henderson bas.

  1. I have just requested for a test drive. I am amazed at how the Canadian C gets all the options, like birds eye maple (dark wood finish) and bi-Xenon headlamps at no extra cost, even on the C300. Also, the C350 gets the 4Matic as well.

    Very impressed

  2. Hello Morris,

It seems that the website had some issues over the weekend, and was even offline at some point, but now it seems they have fixed it. I am not sure why you think it is slow, for me it loads pretty fast for a flash website.
