Mercedes-Benz is unveiling its highly environmentally-compatible BLUETEC emission-control technology in combination with a consumption-optimized four-cylinder engine for the first time at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. In terms of ensuring compliance with the even stricter EURO 6 emission standard, applicable to all new vehicles Europe-wide from 2015, the Vision C 220 BLUETEC shows the way ahead. Boasting an output of 125 kW (170 hp) and a peak torque of 400 Nm, the Vision C 220 BLUETEC now requires 5.5 liters of diesel per hundred kilometers, thanks largely to modified diesel engine technology and an intelligent system of energy management.

  1. In my last Auto Motor und Sport, it was written that MB is building a new 2.2-l 4-cylinder CDI turbodiesel Mercedes engine parts that will develop over 200-horsepower. That’s a lot for an entry-level diesel, considering the C220 CDI started out with 143-horsepower, then 150-horsepower and recently got boosted to 170-horesepower.

  2. Do not buy these cars. I own a MB and it has been the worst car I ever had. Thinking luxury and top the line automobiles? MB are not. As matter fact they are the worse. I could not believe it my self. The safety standars in Canada are more strict. Cars have to pass a safety check that requires more frame work as well bumper test. these cars do not pass. In the USA they do pass becuase in the USA their laws protect business and not individuals when it comes to safety. Go ahead an buy this car and try to cross the border with, or better off before buying ask a Canadian MB dealer if you can bring the best car this planet MB, they will tell you flat NO. It does not meet safety standards, but the worst is that the car can not be modified to meet canadian safety Standards. what a rip off!!!
